Jackie added to her work in graphic design by graduating from the State University of New York (Purchase) with a degree in fine art. Subsequently working at an artist’s collective in Manhattan, Manhattan Graphics, where her work was exhibited regularly in the Tri-state area surrounding New York.
Upon returning to the UK she completed a Master’s degree in printmaking at Camberwell and was elected to the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers. Jackie has curated exhibitions of her own work and that of members in New York and New Delhi. In addition her work has been widely exhibited in the UK and Europe and is held in collections worldwide.
Jackie has taught in colleges of higher and further education in the London area where her students have received awards in national competitions. She also contributes reviews and articles to printmaking publications, and has work included in several drawing and printmaking manuals published by A&C Black Bloomsbury.
Jackie’s earlier etchings focused on form and texture of inanimate objects evoking surreal images. This theme has developed to include textual aspects from her graphics background. Her work has included experimentation with various mono-printing techniques many outlined in her handbook on the topic*. Her current work focuses on architectural themes that still include a surreal element through tone and texture.
